Adhyay 6 - The Liberation of Ajamila
Shrimad Bhagavat Mahapuran
Ajamila was once a pure Brahmin, but he fell into bad company and led a sinful life. He named his youngest son 'Narayana'. As he lay dying, he saw the terrifying Yamadutas (servants of Death) coming to take him. In fear, he cried out for his son: 'Narayana! Narayana!'
Immediately, the Vishnudutas (servants of Vishnu) appeared and stopped the Yamadutas. They explained that even though Ajamila called his son, the mere vibration of the holy name 'Narayana' is so powerful that it clears all sins.
Ajamila was given a second chance at life. He went to Hardwar, performed sincere devotion, and eventually attained liberation. This story proves that the holy name is the most powerful weapon against the darkness of Kali Yuga.
