Adhyay 10 - Departure to the Forest

Shri Ram Charit Manas

Ram, accompanied by Sita and Lakshmana, dressed in tree bark and left the palace. The people of Ayodhya followed Him to the banks of the Tamasa river, crying in grief. Ram managed to leave quietly at night to spare them more pain.

They reached the Ganges, where the boatman Guha served them with pure love. Crossing the river, they entered the forest, leaving behind the comforts of the palace for the hardships of the wild. This departure marks the beginning of the 'Ram Rajya' in the hearts of the common people, as the Lord moved closer to those who truly needed Him.
