Before the sun, the moon, and the stars existed, there was only the Void (Shunya). From this absolute silence, a divine sound 'Om' vibrated, and from it emerged the formless Brahman, known as Sadashiva.

He is the beginning and the end of all things. The Shiv Puran explains that to create the universe, Sadashiva manifested as Shiva and Shakti (Energy). From them, Brahma and Vishnu were born to oversee creation and preservation. This chapter establishes that Shiva is not just a deity, but the underlying consciousness of the entire cosmos. Worshipping Him is the path to realizing the truth within ourselves.
