Adhyay 10 - The Path to Liberation
Shri Shiv Mahapuran
The final part of the Shiv Puran focuses on the practical path of devotion. It explains the importance of 'Bhasma' (sacred ash), 'Rudraksha' (sacred beads), and the 'Panchakshara Mantra' (Om Namah Shivaya).
Shiva is not just an external god; He is the 'Atman' (Soul) within every living being. True worship is to see Shiva in everyone. By letting go of greed, anger, and ego, and by surrendering to the will of Mahadeva, a person can attain 'Sayujya Mukti'—eternal union with the Supreme. The Shiv Puran concludes that there is no difference between the devotee and Shiva in the state of perfect liberation.
